Velata Fondue Warmers!!

Velata is fondue made easy!  A fun line of fondue warmers and premium Belgian chocolate melts.  The Velata fondue warmers work similarly to current Scentsy wax warmers, with a 25-watt bulb in the base to keep the chocolate at just the right temperature. There will be 14 Velata warmers to choose from and 4 types of premium Belgian chocolate:  milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and chocolate caramel.  Yumm!!!

On May 1, 2012 Scentsy launched Velata, a new Scentsy Brand - a fun, easy-to-use, and absolutely DELICIOUS fondue experience.

You already know that warmers + wax = a simple system. With Velata, warmers + CHOCOLATE = a simple, incredible, EDIBLE party experience.  Scentsy executives flew to Belgium and met with the oldest and most prestigious chocolate manufacturers. They selected the highest quality, purest chocolate that would melt perfectly and taste divine. Velata will launch with velvety milk chocolate, creamy white chocolate, decadent dark chocolate, and indulgent caramel milk chocolate. Velata chocolate will come in convenient 6-ounce pouches with pour spouts. Simply microwave, pour into the Velata dish, dip your favorite foods, and enjoy.

There are 14 Velata fondue warmers to choose from that range from contemporary to traditional design. Velata fondue warmers use the same technology as other Scentsy warmers. The difference between Velata fondue warmers and Scentsy warmers is the silicone dish. It's a simple dish that has a patent-pending technology to keep the chocolate at exactly the right temperature. A metal plate wrapped in silicone absorbs the heat from the 25-watt bulb. The silicone keeps the heat from escaping, prevents the chocolate from scorching, and can go from the refrigerator to the microwave to the dishwasher with ease. You can't do that with a fondue tower, or a traditional fondue pot!

Can I sell both Scentsy Group brands?

Yes!  You can sell all brands Scentsy currently has launched, as well as any future new brands and product lines.  You do NOT have to sell Scentsy if you don't want to.  You can choose to only sell one brand, a few brands, or all brands; it's up to you.  You CAN recruit for ALL brands, whether or not you choose to sell that particular brand!

Any Scentsy Family Consultant can sell and recruit for ANY of the Scentsy brands offered by Scenty Family and it will all be part of one downline (team).  Usually in Direct Sales, a company will allow you to sign up and sell only one brand, and if you choose to sell any of their other brands, you have to start all over.  That means each brand would be completely separate downlines, separate sales totals, etc.  Scentsy Family has generously allowed Consultants to join and sell any or all of the brands under the Scentsy Family umbrella, and their whole Consultants under them from all brands make up the same downline and sales totals.  Even if a Scentsy Consultant decides not to sell the new brands and product lines, he/she can still recruit for ALL of the Scentsy Family brands and benefit from those sales.

What if I sell for another Direct Sales company?

Scentsy just announced that they are NOT restricting Consultants from selling any Scentsy brands, regardless of if they are selling a similar Direct Sales product with a different company.  You will not be able to earn money on your downline Directors and their teams if you are receiving Leadership Bonuses for another Direct Sales company however.

New Scentsy Brand Line Extensions

Scentsy is all about scent.  It started out as only candle wax and lightbulb warmers, then expanded to include on-the-go Scentsy products, Scentsy Buddies, Scentsy Solid Perfumes, and now is expanding to let us experience world-class Scentsy fragrances in other areas of our lives.  The current Scentsy brand is expanding also, and getting two now line extensions this spring in the new Spring/Summer 2012 Scentsy catalog.  How fun!  The two Scentsy new product lines are Sincerely Scent Online Card Store, and Layers by Scentsy - a bath, body and laundry fragrance product line.

1.  Sincerely Scent Card Store

Scentsy will soon launch Sincerely Scent, an innovative new Scentsy product line extension: an online Scentsy greeting card store featuring over 150 original, customizable, SCENTED greeting cards. Customers will be able to order cards online and have them delivered to the recipients' addresses without buying stamps or going to the post office.

You can personalize Sincerely Scent cards with a customized message, favorite photo, and even a digital signature.  You get to send the card of your choice and also which scent sample you choose from the Scentsy Favorites collection. Each Sincerely Scent card will be mailed with a sample infused with Scentsy fragrance, allowing the recipient to experience Scentsy as soon as they open the envelope.  There are cards for every occasion, from birthdays and anniversaries to holidays. You can even send Scentsy business-building cards to your team!

Cards are purchased with credits, which are available in bundles of 10, 25, or 100. One card equals one credit, and includes postage and delivery. Each card costs $2.85 (USD) / $3.82 (CAD).   Sincerely Scent cards are printed in the USA.

2. Layers by Scentsy

Scentsy launched a second new product line extension for Spring/Summer 2012: Layers by Scentsy--personal AND laundry care products infused with your favorite Scentsy fragrances and custom-designed for Scentsy. Scentsy worked with the best suppliers in the industry to bring you personal care products you will LOVE.

With Layers by Scentsy you can create a fragrance experience that is uniquely yours, and layer your life with fragrance.

There are nine Layers by Scentsy products--eight new ones, plus Scentsy Solid Perfume.  New Layers products include:

  1. Shower Gel
  2. Shower Cream
  3. Body Lotion
  4. Body Butter
  5. Hand Cream
  6. Body Spray
  7. Solid Perfume
  8. Washer Whiffs
  9. Dryer Disks

In addition to pampering bath and body products, two new laundry care products in the new product line allow you to extend your Scentsy experience to your clothes. Washer Whiffs is a perfume for your laundry. Simply add it to the wash cycle with your detergent to scent your clothes. Then, toss your laundry into the dryer and add a Dryer Disk. The Dryer Disk is made of plastic infused with fragrance that has anti-static properties. It will scent up to 15 loads of laundry.

The new Layers by Scentsy product line will launch with six fragrances for new personal care products and up to six fragrances for laundry care products. Personal care product line prices range from $6 (USD) / $7 (CAD) for Hand Cream to $18 (USD) / $21 (CAD) for Solid Perfume.

Layers by Scentsy is an extension of our existing Scentsy product lines and is not a new brand.  The new Layers by Scentsy product line is now available to purchase in the new Spring/Summer 2012 Scentsy catalog.

When will the new Scentsy Product Lines launch?

Sincerely Scent card store will be available early spring 2012, and Layers by Scentsy is now available since March 1, 2012.  Such exciting additions to our current Scentsy catalog and products!!

The new brand of Velata chocolate fondue warmers will launch May 1, 2012.  Orville Thompson, Scentsy CEO, announced that Scentsy will launch a HUGE new brand extension before the next Scentsy Convention in July 2012 and create a completely new Scentsy Family brand and product line.  He didn't give specifics as to exactly when the new brand and product line will launch, or give any hints as to what type of product line it might be, but whatever it is, it's sure to be a hit!

New Scentsy Brand and Products

Scentsy Expanding into New Brand Lines

Have you heard the exciting news?!?  Scentsy Wickless Candles is expanding their brands to include completely new brands and new product lines soon.  The Scentsy brand itself started just seven short years ago and has since grown into a multi-million dollar company with over 235,000 consultants worldwide.  Scentsy is a leader in the Direct Sales industry, and continues to set new records every year for growth, innovation, and sales.  Scentsy began in the United States, but has since expanded internationally and now includes Canada, Puerto Rico, Germany, the UK, and Ireland.  Though Scentsy is open internationally, the new Scentsy brands will only be sold in Region 1 (US, Canada, Puerto Rico) for now.

New Scentsy Product Line

Scentsy also announced two exciting line extensions of the existing Scentsy brandSincerely Scent (online scented card service) and Layers by Scentsy (bath, body and laundry fragrance products).

There is another big new Scentsy Family brand yet to be announced, and we don't know yet what that new brand will be, but Scentsy CEO Orville Thompson told us at the Scentsy Annual Convention this year that the new brand and products will be completely unrelated to Scentsy and its current product lines.  So, the new brands and products could be anything - any guesses??   The only clue we have is Scentsy's overall brand mission statement which is this:  "To bring value to the world by providing an industry-leading, family-friendly business opportunity selling creative, artistic, high-quality products that Warm the Heart, Enliven the Senses, and Inspire the Soul."

New Brands = Big Scentsy Business

The new brand extension potential is a huge opportunity for Scentsy as a company, as well as for Consultants.  Scentsy is going to be the umbrella corporation, with the new separate brand extensions under it, so every Scentsy Consultant has the option of selling and recruiting from any or all of the brands owned by Scentsy.  This also means that all sales from ANY Scentsy brand will all count for Scentsy sales, making the revenue potential shoot through the roof!  Even if I don't want to actively participate in selling any of the new Scentsy brand extensions, I will directly benefit from any of my downline or future recruits who are interested in the new brand.

Did you know that if you are a Scentsy Consultant, you can sell the new brand products too and recruit for BOTH brands? AND everything your downline sells, WHICHEVER brand, rolls up into your Scentsy team sales? SUCH big news!!

In case you're curious and would like more details of how the existing Scentsy brand will interact with new Scentsy brands for Consultants, here is a Q&A with more information, followed by a letter to Consultants from Scentsy CEO Orville Thompson.

New Scentsy Brand and Products Q&A

On November 17, 2011, Orville sent a special email to all Region 1 Consultants announcing a change in policy to prepare for the launch of a new Scentsy, Inc. brand next year. (You can read Orville's email below, after these FAQs.) Scentsy, Inc. will become the parent company of both brands; this new brand and the existing Scentsy brand we all know and love.

Consultants who simply want to sell existing Scentsy products, and not sell for other direct selling companies, will not be affected by the new policy OR the launch of new brands.

Participation in any new Scentsy brands is completely optional. The new policy is intended for Scentsy Consultants at Director-and-above level who are actively recruiting for Scentsy AND other direct selling companies. As Orville stated in his email on November 17, 2011, loyalty from leaders is required for Scentsy to achieve our goals for growth.

Q. Is Scentsy’s product offering changing or going away?

A. No. Scentsy will continue to offer all of its existing products: warmers, wax products, Scentsy Solid Perfume, Scentsy Buddies and Fragrance on the Go products.

Q. Will I still be able to sell Scentsy warmers and fragrance products?

A. Absolutely. Consultants who wish to sell Scentsy products ONLY will not be affected by this new policy.

Q. When is Scentsy launching a new brand?

A. As Orville announced at Convention in August 2011, Scentsy, Inc. will launch a new brand before Convention 2012 (July, 2012).

Q. What is the new brand?

A. We are unable to share that information at this time, for legal and intellectual property reasons. But it will be before July 2012 and it could be soon!

Q. What if I want to continue selling Scentsy but I don’t want to sell the new Scentsy Group brand?

A. You are welcome to continue to sell Scentsy; selling the new Scentsy Group brands will be completely optional.

Q. Why is Scentsy launching a new brand and implementing a new policy?

A. The new brand and the new policy will increase opportunities for our Consultants by allowing them to work with the same downline across more than one Scentsy, Inc. brand. It’s important to Scentsy that we remain true to our mission statement pledge to “… bring value to the world by providing an industry-leading family-friendly business opportunity.” These are more than just words to us. Scentsy is committed to making the promise of our mission statement a reality. Heidi and Orville want to make sure your Scentsy business has the potential to become a valuable, enduring legacy—one you can pass on to your children and grandchildren. This is why it is critical for Scentsy to launch new brands, continue to expand, and achieve our goal to become a Fortune 500 company.

Q. What if I want to sell Scentsy and also sell for another direct selling company?

A. You are welcome to sell for Scentsy and any other direct selling company. If you are Director-and-above level for Scentsy AND also have a team for another direct selling company, you are welcome to continue selling for both companies. You will continue to receive commissions on your sales and your downline sales, as described in the Scentsy Compensation Plan. However, you will NOT be eligible to receive 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Generation Director Bonuses.

Q. Can I keep my downline if I want to continue to sell Scentsy AND also sell the new Scentsy, Inc. brand?

A. Absolutely. One of the reasons we’re creating the new brand is to increase opportunities for our Consultants by allowing them to work with the same downline across more than one Scentsy, Inc. brand.

Q. Can I keep my downline if I want to continue to sell Scentsy AND also sell products for another direct selling company?

A. Yes, you can keep your downline, and are expected to continue to properly lead your Scentsy team. However, you will not receive your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation Director TWV Bonuses as illustrated in the Scentsy Compensation Plan.

Q. Am I restricted from selling for other direct selling companies?

A. No.  You are welcome to sell for Scentsy and any other direct selling company, but when you reach Director status, you must choose from which company you will receive Generational Bonuses.

Q. Why are you restricting me from growing a team with Scentsy AND with another direct selling company?

A. We are not. If you are Director-and-above level for Scentsy AND also have a team for another direct selling company, you are welcome to continue selling and building a team for both companies. You will continue to receive commissions on sales, sales bonuses, and TWV bonuses. However, you will NOT be eligible to receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation Director TWV Bonuses as illustrated in the Scentsy Compensation Plan.

ORVILLE'S EMAIL TO ALL CONSULTANTS 11-17-2011

When Heidi and I introduced the Scentsy mission statement to a small group of people on July 1, 2004, little did we know how significantly a few words written on a piece of paper could so dramatically change the lives of so many people. A mission statement can unify a group when tough decisions have to be made. By fulfilling our mission statement, we keep our promises to our Consultants and employees.

Heidi’s and my first obligation is to fulfill the promise made by Scentsy’s mission statement: To bring value to the world by providing an industry-leading, family-friendly business opportunity selling creative, artistic, high-quality products that Warm the Heart, Enliven the Senses, and Inspire the Soul. Value to the world . . . industry-leading . . . family-friendly . . . These words are meaningful to us. Every day, we work, and inspire the entire home office team to work, to make this promise a reality.

Scentsy is steadily climbing the charts in revenue and influence in the direct selling industry, and we have thousands of families who count Scentsy as one of their greatest blessings. But where others may be ready to cash in and coast, Heidi and I feel compelled to push onward. There are still families we have not reached.

We understand each of you enjoys a different relationship with Scentsy, based on your goals and desires. We welcome many different types of Consultants, from those who consider Scentsy in their long-term plans to those who appreciate what the opportunity can do for them now. Each type is very important to the company and brings its own value to the brand. No Consultant is ever fixed in one place. You have the power to determine where you want to be. Some of you are legacy builders. You want to pass your business on to your children and grandchildren. And we are implementing a new policy for you—and all Consultants who want to grow their businesses—to aid you in reaching that goal and to reinforce the promises we made seven years ago in our mission statement.

Current Scentsy policy states that Scentsy Directors and above will not receive generational bonuses if they build a downline with any other direct selling company, regardless of its products.

At Convention this year, I announced Scentsy would someday rise to become a Fortune 500 company. To do this, I also announced that by Convention 2012, we would launch an entirely new brand and product line, to which existing Scentsy Consultants and their teams would have full access. While still enjoying the benefits of a Workstation, your incredible teams, and your existing and passionate customers, you would be able to sell these products using your existing downline and sponsor new Consultants into your existing team.

There will be no shortage of business and new opportunities for anyone who remains focused, steadfast, and avoids unnecessary conflict, but we want you to be fully committed to Scentsy and its current and future brands. We’re asking for your loyalty, and will require loyalty from our leadership. Once Scentsy Consultants reach Director level, they have a substantial number of people relying on them. It mocks the values we represent when a Consultant abandons a successful Scentsy team to repeat their efforts with another company, yet still collects bonuses on the performance of a Scentsy team they no longer fully support.

This new policy will allow us to maintain accountability among our leaders to train, support, and influence their teams as we continue to grow and as our competition changes and new challenges arise. We will not enforce the new policy until we officially launch our new brand line next year. If you are satisfied with the state of your Scentsy business as it now stands, this policy will probably not apply to you. But we’re sharing it with you now, months before it will go into effect, because we want each of you to decide where you stand.

As we continue to strive for that Fortune 500 designation, as we continue to broaden the scope of our contribution to the world, the new Scentsy brands we launch will give you the potential to reach and exceed your professional and financial goals; the potential to build a legacy. We realize we may lose some great Consultants with this policy and that is unfortunate, but it’s better to have fewer Consultants who are focused and committed with whom we can lock arms and move forward.

For us to succeed in reaching a new horizon, we must remain aligned. We’re on the brink of making direct selling history, and Heidi and I are thrilled to reach such an immeasurable milestone with you. Thank you for your contribution to the Scentsy brand, and for your continued dedication to safeguard its value.

Scentsy Love, Life, Hope Breast Cancer Awareness Warmer

Scentsy donated $613,177 from the sale of the Charitable Cause Scentsy Warmer to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) on April 18, 2011.  All net profits from that particular Scentsy Warmer were donated to the NBCF, bringing Scentsy closer to its goal of donating $1 million for fighting breast cancer.

I was able to attend the event when Orville and Heidi Thompson, Scentsy President and CEO, presented the check, and was so touched.  It was such a moving event, and I was so proud to be there and see the culminating efforts of all Scentsy Consultants and customers in supporting this great cause through the Love, Life, Hope Warmer.

In fact, I didn't know what kind of event exactly this would be, and wondered if I needed to get a babysitter and leave my four little kids home.  I decided that I wanted my kids to understand more about sickness and trials, and see that we were able to help in a little way.  My Scentsy business is so tied my family; I started selling Scentsy four years ago because I wanted to stay home with them and work from home.  I love how Scentsy is a big part of my family, and we all are in it together.  They love to go to Scentsy parties and events with me, and help with labeling Scentsy bars and such. My family loves Scentsy as much as I do, so I decided to bring them with me, and am so glad I did.  It was a wonderful event and a great way to teach them about compassion and service, and the generous spirit of Scentsy.  So proud to be a part of this great company that is touching so many peoples' lives.  Thanks for your support of Scentsy too!

Unfortunately the Love, Life Hope Warmer supporting the fight against breast cancer is no longer available to purchase.  Every Scentsy catalog debuts a new Charitable Cause Warmer sold to raise funds for the organization during that six months.  The current Scentsy Charitable Cause Warmer is the Scentsy Heartfelt Warmer, benefiting the American Heart Association, and is available now until the new Scentsy catalog comes out in September 2012.

Scentsy President named Idaho Woman of the Year!

Scentsy President, Heidi Thompson named Idaho Woman of the Year

First-ever Idaho Woman of the Year Award given to Heidi Thompson, Scentsy President and co-owner, on Feb. 17, 2011.  Traditionally, this award has been given to a group of 50 women collectively, but Heidi's score was the highest across the board in all categories, so they decided to break tradition and give her the top award.  Heidi was named the 2011 Idaho Woman of the Year - the first time that honor has ever been given!  She is such an amazing woman and we are lucky to have her with us at Scentsy.

Here is a bit of the Idaho Business Review article written about the event:

“This is our sixth year for the Women of the Year event and it was our best ever,” said IBR Vice President and Publisher Sean Evans. “We truly enjoyed celebrating the success and triumphs of some of our state’s most successful women.”  A first this year came at the end of the evening in an Academy Award-like moment as Thompson, president and co-owner of Scentsy, Inc. - and one of the 50 honorees - was revealed as the 2011 Woman of the Year. A selection committee of past honorees used a rating system covering four critical categories, and Thompson scored highest across the board.

Thompson, whose rags-to-riches story could be fodder for a Hollywood movie script, smiled through tears as she accepted the award presented to her...  She thanked her mother Alice Kalilimoku, her children, Sarah, Mary, Emma, Owen and Grace and especially her husband, and “best friend,” Orville. Other family members, friends and coworkers were there to share the celebration... “Every one of these 50 Women of the Year exemplifies what it takes to be a leader, deeply involved in her community, an accomplished professional who can and does follow through on long-term goals,” Evans said.
