Scentsy Expanding into New Brand Lines

Have you heard the exciting news?!?  Scentsy Wickless Candles is expanding their brands to include completely new brands and new product lines soon.  The Scentsy brand itself started just seven short years ago and has since grown into a multi-million dollar company with over 235,000 consultants worldwide.  Scentsy is a leader in the Direct Sales industry, and continues to set new records every year for growth, innovation, and sales.  Scentsy began in the United States, but has since expanded internationally and now includes Canada, Puerto Rico, Germany, the UK, and Ireland.  Though Scentsy is open internationally, the new Scentsy brands will only be sold in Region 1 (US, Canada, Puerto Rico) for now.

New Scentsy Product Line

Scentsy just announced the addition of a new Scentsy Family brand completely different from candle warmers and scented wax.  Read more about Scentsy’s new brand here.  The new brand and products will launch May 1, 2012.  I can tell you more about how you can join and sell the new Scentsy brands if you contact me.  I’d love to get you started!

Scentsy also announced two exciting line extensions of the existing Scentsy brandSincerely Scent (online scented card service) and Layers by Scentsy (bath, body and laundry fragrance products).

There is another big new Scentsy Family brand yet to be announced, and we don’t know yet what that new brand will be, but Scentsy CEO Orville Thompson told us at the Scentsy Annual Convention this year that the new brand and products will be completely unrelated to Scentsy and its current product lines.  So, the new brands and products could be anything – any guesses??   The only clue we have is Scentsy’s overall brand mission statement which is this:  “To bring value to the world by providing an industry-leading, family-friendly business opportunity selling creative, artistic, high-quality products that Warm the Heart, Enliven the Senses, and Inspire the Soul.”

New Brands = Big Scentsy Business

The new brand extension potential is a huge opportunity for Scentsy as a company, as well as for Consultants.  Scentsy is going to be the umbrella corporation, with the new separate brand extensions under it, so every Scentsy Consultant has the option of selling and recruiting from any or all of the brands owned by Scentsy.  This also means that all sales from ANY Scentsy brand will all count for Scentsy sales, making the revenue potential shoot through the roof!  Even if I don’t want to actively participate in selling any of the new Scentsy brand extensions, I will directly benefit from any of my downline or future recruits who are interested in the new brand.

Did you know that if you are a Scentsy Consultant, you can sell the new brand products too and recruit for BOTH brands? AND everything your downline sells, WHICHEVER brand, rolls up into your Scentsy team sales? SUCH big news!!

Can I sell both Scentsy, Inc. brands?

Yes!  You can sell all brands Scentsy currently has launched, as well as any future new brands and product lines.  You do NOT have to sell Scentsy if you don’t want to.  You can choose to only sell one brand, a few brands, or all brands; it’s up to you.  You CAN recruit for ALL brands in the Scentsy Family, whether or not you choose to sell that particular brand!

New Scentsy Brand and Products Q&A

On November 17, 2011, Orville sent a special email to all Region 1 Consultants announcing a change in policy to prepare for the launch of a new Scentsy, Inc. brand next year. (You can read Orville’s email below, after these FAQs.) Scentsy, Inc. will become the parent company of both brands; this new brand and the existing Scentsy brand we all know and love.

Consultants who simply want to sell existing Scentsy products, and not sell for other direct selling companies, will not be affected by the new policy OR the launch of new brands.

Participation in any new Scentsy brands is completely optional. The new policy is intended for Scentsy Consultants at Director-and-above level who are actively recruiting for Scentsy AND other direct selling companies. As Orville stated in his email on November 17, 2011, loyalty from leaders is required for Scentsy to achieve our goals for growth.

Q. Is Scentsy’s product offering changing or going away?

A. No. Scentsy will continue to offer all of its existing products: warmers, wax products, Scentsy Solid Perfume, Scentsy Buddies and Fragrance on the Go products.

Q. Will I still be able to sell Scentsy warmers and fragrance products?

A. Absolutely. Consultants who wish to sell Scentsy products ONLY will not be affected by this new policy.

Q. When is Scentsy launching a new brand?

A. As Orville announced at Convention in August 2011, Scentsy, Inc. will launch a new brand before Convention 2012 (July, 2012).

Q. What is the new brand?

A. We are unable to share that information at this time, for legal and intellectual property reasons. But it will be before July 2012 and it could be soon!

Q. What if I want to continue selling Scentsy but I don’t want to sell the new Scentsy Group brand?

A. You are welcome to continue to sell Scentsy; selling the new Scentsy Group brands will be completely optional.

Q. Why is Scentsy launching a new brand and implementing a new policy?

A. The new brand and the new policy will increase opportunities for our Consultants by allowing them to work with the same downline across more than one Scentsy, Inc. brand. It’s important to Scentsy that we remain true to our mission statement pledge to “… bring value to the world by providing an industry-leading family-friendly business opportunity.” These are more than just words to us. Scentsy is committed to making the promise of our mission statement a reality. Heidi and Orville want to make sure your Scentsy business has the potential to become a valuable, enduring legacy—one you can pass on to your children and grandchildren. This is why it is critical for Scentsy to launch new brands, continue to expand, and achieve our goal to become a Fortune 500 company.

Q. What if I want to sell Scentsy and also sell for another direct selling company?

A. You are welcome to sell for Scentsy and any other direct selling company. If you are Director-and-above level for Scentsy AND also have a team for another direct selling company, you are welcome to continue selling for both companies. You will continue to receive commissions on your sales and your downline sales, as described in the Scentsy Compensation Plan. However, you will NOT be eligible to receive 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Generation Director Bonuses.

Q. Can I keep my downline if I want to continue to sell Scentsy AND also sell the new Scentsy, Inc. brand?

A. Absolutely. One of the reasons we’re creating the new brand is to increase opportunities for our Consultants by allowing them to work with the same downline across more than one Scentsy, Inc. brand.

Q. Can I keep my downline if I want to continue to sell Scentsy AND also sell products for another direct selling company?

A. Yes, you can keep your downline, and are expected to continue to properly lead your Scentsy team. However, you will not receive your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation Director TWV Bonuses as illustrated in the Scentsy Compensation Plan.

Q. Am I restricted from selling for other direct selling companies?

A. No.  You are welcome to sell for Scentsy and any other direct selling company, but when you reach Director status, you must choose from which company you will receive Generational Bonuses.

Q. Why are you restricting me from growing a team with Scentsy AND with another direct selling company?

A. We are not. If you are Director-and-above level for Scentsy AND also have a team for another direct selling company, you are welcome to continue selling and building a team for both companies. You will continue to receive commissions on sales, sales bonuses, and TWV bonuses. However, you will NOT be eligible to receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation Director TWV Bonuses as illustrated in the Scentsy Compensation Plan.

ORVILLE’S EMAIL TO ALL CONSULTANTS 11-17-2011

When Heidi and I introduced the Scentsy mission statement to a small group of people on July 1, 2004, little did we know how significantly a few words written on a piece of paper could so dramatically change the lives of so many people. A mission statement can unify a group when tough decisions have to be made. By fulfilling our mission statement, we keep our promises to our Consultants and employees.

Heidi’s and my first obligation is to fulfill the promise made by Scentsy’s mission statement: To bring value to the world by providing an industry-leading, family-friendly business opportunity selling creative, artistic, high-quality products that Warm the Heart, Enliven the Senses, and Inspire the Soul. Value to the world . . . industry-leading . . . family-friendly . . . These words are meaningful to us. Every day, we work, and inspire the entire home office team to work, to make this promise a reality.

Scentsy is steadily climbing the charts in revenue and influence in the direct selling industry, and we have thousands of families who count Scentsy as one of their greatest blessings. But where others may be ready to cash in and coast, Heidi and I feel compelled to push onward. There are still families we have not reached.

We understand each of you enjoys a different relationship with Scentsy, based on your goals and desires. We welcome many different types of Consultants, from those who consider Scentsy in their long-term plans to those who appreciate what the opportunity can do for them now. Each type is very important to the company and brings its own value to the brand. No Consultant is ever fixed in one place. You have the power to determine where you want to be. Some of you are legacy builders. You want to pass your business on to your children and grandchildren. And we are implementing a new policy for you—and all Consultants who want to grow their businesses—to aid you in reaching that goal and to reinforce the promises we made seven years ago in our mission statement.

Current Scentsy policy states that Scentsy Directors and above will not receive generational bonuses if they build a downline with any other direct selling company, regardless of its products.

At Convention this year, I announced Scentsy would someday rise to become a Fortune 500 company. To do this, I also announced that by Convention 2012, we would launch an entirely new brand and product line, to which existing Scentsy Consultants and their teams would have full access. While still enjoying the benefits of a Workstation, your incredible teams, and your existing and passionate customers, you would be able to sell these products using your existing downline and sponsor new Consultants into your existing team.

There will be no shortage of business and new opportunities for anyone who remains focused, steadfast, and avoids unnecessary conflict, but we want you to be fully committed to Scentsy and its current and future brands. We’re asking for your loyalty, and will require loyalty from our leadership. Once Scentsy Consultants reach Director level, they have a substantial number of people relying on them. It mocks the values we represent when a Consultant abandons a successful Scentsy team to repeat their efforts with another company, yet still collects bonuses on the performance of a Scentsy team they no longer fully support.

This new policy will allow us to maintain accountability among our leaders to train, support, and influence their teams as we continue to grow and as our competition changes and new challenges arise. We will not enforce the new policy until we officially launch our new brand line next year. If you are satisfied with the state of your Scentsy business as it now stands, this policy will probably not apply to you. But we’re sharing it with you now, months before it will go into effect, because we want each of you to decide where you stand.

As we continue to strive for that Fortune 500 designation, as we continue to broaden the scope of our contribution to the world, the new Scentsy brands we launch will give you the potential to reach and exceed your professional and financial goals; the potential to build a legacy. We realize we may lose some great Consultants with this policy and that is unfortunate, but it’s better to have fewer Consultants who are focused and committed with whom we can lock arms and move forward.

For us to succeed in reaching a new horizon, we must remain aligned. We’re on the brink of making direct selling history, and Heidi and I are thrilled to reach such an immeasurable milestone with you.
