Scentsy Love, Life, Hope Breast Cancer Awareness Warmer
Scentsy donated $613,177 from the sale of the Charitable Cause Scentsy Warmer to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) on April 18, 2011. All net profits from that particular Scentsy Warmer were donated to the NBCF, bringing Scentsy closer to its goal of donating $1 million for fighting breast cancer.
I was able to attend the event when Orville and Heidi Thompson, Scentsy President and CEO, presented the check, and was so touched. It was such a moving event, and I was so proud to be there and see the culminating efforts of all Scentsy Consultants and customers in supporting this great cause through the Love, Life, Hope Warmer.
In fact, I didn't know what kind of event exactly this would be, and wondered if I needed to get a babysitter and leave my four little kids home. I decided that I wanted my kids to understand more about sickness and trials, and see that we were able to help in a little way. My Scentsy business is so tied my family; I started selling Scentsy four years ago because I wanted to stay home with them and work from home. I love how Scentsy is a big part of my family, and we all are in it together. They love to go to Scentsy parties and events with me, and help with labeling Scentsy bars and such. My family loves Scentsy as much as I do, so I decided to bring them with me, and am so glad I did. It was a wonderful event and a great way to teach them about compassion and service, and the generous spirit of Scentsy. So proud to be a part of this great company that is touching so many peoples' lives. Thanks for your support of Scentsy too!

The Piece By Piece Scentsy warmer has raised puzzle pieces all around the base, with a single blue puzzle piece on each side, designed to represent the mission of Autism Speaks. April is National Autism Awareness month, and I found out that it is the fastest-growing developmental disability in the world. How sad. As a mother of four young children, it breaks my heart to think so many children in need of help and understanding, but not able to get it. My brother and his family were stationed in Japan during the earthquake and tsunami in March 11,2011, so we have been glued to CNN and any other news from Japan we can find. My heart has broken as I see images and movies of the destruction in Japan and the loss those people are going through. Now with the radiation danger from the Nuclear crisis from the Power Plant leak, the situation just continues to get more bleak. I felt guilty for being so relieved when my brother was safe and got to come back home to the U.S. and felt so sad for the Japanese people who didn't get to leave. I know there's not a lot I can do, but I figure something is better than nothing, so I am holding my own Scentsy fundraiser and donating 100% of my net profits from Scentsy to support aid in Japan.

Scentsy Wax spilled on your carpet?
Although Scentsy is SAFE and will not pose any fire hazard, it could still spill on your carpet!
I've been lucky to never have had Scentsy wax spill on my carpet (even with five little kiddies! Whew!), but I have had it spill down my bathroom wall. I found a few things that work, so I will post the "best practices" in case you need it too!
How to Get Scentsy Wax out of Carpet or Walls
- Pick off as much of the Scentsy wax as you can.
- Use an ice cube to chill the Scentsy wax to chip off more of the excess. Get as much as you can, but don't ruin your carpet.
- Place a paper bag, paper towel, or piece of newspaper on the carpet where the wax spilled. Go over the paper with an iron on the lowest setting to heat the wax (a hair dryer would work too). Scentsy wax is formulated to melt at a low temp, so it won't take long. The paper will soak up the wax and pull it away from your carpet. Change the paper as needed until all of the Scentsy wax is removed.
- If the wax is gone, but the wax color stained the carpet, use a clean paper towel to apply rubbing alcohol to any areas as necessary.
