Scentsy Wax Bars FAQ
What is a Scentsy Bar?
A Scentsy Bar is a block of fragrant wax in eight break-apart sections. Scentsy Bars are available in more than 80 exclusive Scentsy fragrances and designed for use in a Scentsy Warmer. Different regions of the world, because of local trends and preferences, will have different Scentsy scents available to buy.
Where are Scentsy Bars made?
Scentsy Bars are manufactured at the Scentsy home office in Meridian, Idaho.
How long will a Scentsy Bar last?
So that really depends on your local temperature and how strong you want the fragrance to be. Typically, however, a Scentsy Bar will last approximately 50 to 60 hours, depending on the strength of the fragrance, where a Warmer is located in a room, the time of year, humidity and other factors. Some fragrances also have strong base notes that tend to linger longer while the more fresh, clean scents don’t.
Why does my wax look like it’s sweating?
Extreme variations in temperature can cause fragrance oils in your Scentsy Bar to separate from the wax and begin beading up on its surface. This may look a lot like sweat!
There are a couple of ways to help prevent “sweaty” wax:
• Don’t store your Bars in the freezer.
• Do store your Bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. When the Bar is warmed, the oils should blend with the wax with no noticeable effect on your fragrance experience.
• Don’t allow your Scentsy wax to exercise, that way they will never sweat. 🙂 Just kidding…wax should probably exercise as much as we should. I think.
What kind of wax is used in Scentsy Bars?
Scentsy wax bars are made from a custom, high-quality paraffin wax blend designed to give you long-lasting fragrance. The Scentsy wax blend ingredients are selected for their scent-loading ability, melting point and firmness. That means your favorite Scentsy scent warms beautifully and holds a lot of fragrance!
Why doesn’t Scentsy use a soy- or vegetable-based wax?
Soy- or vegetable-based waxes can produce a quality wicked candle, but not a quality wickless candle. Scentsy only sells wickless candles.
What kind of fragrance oils are used in Scentsy Bars?
Scentsy uses both synthetic and naturally-derived fragrances oils to achieve the highest quality and longest-lasting bar. Synthetic oils are used for several reasons, including:
· When using natural oils results in unrestrained use of limited or endangered natural resources.
· When it isn’t possible to derive the natural oils from nature. For example, synthetic oil is necessary to reproduce lily of the valley because fragrance cannot be extracted from this flower through typical extraction methods.
· When it is cost prohibitive to acquire natural oils and would preclude Scentsy from offering particular fragrances without increasing the price for customers.
Do I use a whole Scentsy Bar at once?
Scentsy Bars come in eight break-apart cubes. Depending on the size of the space you are trying to fragrance you will want 1 cube for smaller spaces, and more for larger spaces or rooms with tall ceilings. If you place an entire Scentsy bar in your warmer you will find that the fragrance will be very intense but won’t last as long. Turn your Warmer on and enjoy!
How do I clean wax out of a Scentsy Warmer?
While the wax is warm, simply pour it out and wipe the Scentsy Warmer dish with a paper towel to remove any residual wax. Though it may not seem like much, any remaining wax in the Warmer dish may mix with the new Scentsy scent you are putting in the dish and combine a new scent. It’s really quite simple, whatever you do, don’t pour it down the sink!
Are Scentsy Bars safe?
Scentsy Bars are safer than candles with a wick because no flame is required. Since the Scentsy wax is warmed rather than burned like traditional wicked candles, no harmful chemicals or pollutants are released into the air — just beautiful fragrance. That means no flame, smoke or soot! That means once the fragrance is gone from the wax you will still see wax in your warmer, the Scentsy wax does not melt or go away even though the fragrance may be gone.
Do Scentsy Bars contain harmful phthalates?
Scentsy Bars do not contain or release harmful phthalates. A small percentage of Scentsy Bar fragrances contain extremely low levels of non-harmful diethyl phthalate (DEP), commonly used in fragrances to help blend ingredients and to make fragrances last longer. DEP is thoroughly tested and is consistently regarded as safe for use in fragrance by several government bodies including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the European Union Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (SCCP). Scentsy follows all safety standards regulating the use of DEP set by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA).
Do Scentsy Bars contain any nut or mineral oils? Do they contain Bisphenol A (BPA), gluten, lead, egg or formaldehyde?
Scentsy Bars and fragrance oils do not contain any kind of nut or mineral oils. They are BPA-, gluten-, lead-, egg and formaldehyde-free
What wattage of lightbulb does a Scentsy Warmer use?
Scentsy has been very innovative and developed multiple warmer sizes and styles so the type of lightbulb really depends on the Scentsy Warmer. Today, Scentsy Warmers use a 15-watt bulb, 20-watt bulb, 25-watt bulb or 40-watt Edison bulb, depending on the Warmer you’ve purchased. Some Warmers don’t require a lightbulb at all and use an element heat source technology to warm the Scentsy wax. See the catalog or product list for the lightbulb size for each Scentsy Warmer.

How long does a Travel Tin last?
The length of a Travel Tin is dependent upon several conditions:
· Travel Tins lose potency faster in a hot or dry environment, as opposed to a cold or humid one.
